Elixir Mag

For my capstone project synthesizing all my academic knowledge from university, I chose to create an augmented reality-enhanced magazine. The magazine, titled Elixir, was a semester-long project which combined my expertise of research, media studies, graphic design, project management, writing, and video production all in one.

Elixir Magazine is a bi-annual online and in-print publication dedicated to bringing you all the latest through a magical concoction of art, emerging technologies, and visual design.

I chose a retro but bright and colorful palette for the issue, using a combination of image and pattern overlays to create a "scrapbook", fun feel.

Brand Color Palette

Using augmented reality technology via the Artivive app, I added a layer of immersive storytelling to the magazine. In the issue, readers are instructed to download the Artivive app and hover their mobile device over the content marked as AR-enhanced (with a smiley face!) to unlock four secret videos.
