"Dealt a Bad Hand" is a game my team and I created for our Digital Art & Social Practice course. We based the game loosely off of Cards Against Humanity, but with a political twist. I designed the cards, replicating the original in terms of format, while also creating a new logo for the game.

Prompt Card

The project consisted of four giant printouts of our black prompt cards, along with smaller stacks of white result cards to go along with the prompt. The black cards contained prompts about different situations in life, while the white cards detailed different outcomes to these situations. We let audience members pick a card from each of the stacks (four cards per audience member). What the audience found was that out of those four cards, at least one of them would result in homelessness. The point of the project was to show how homelessness is, ironically, not black and white. There are many and often unavoidable situations in life that can lead to homelessness.

Outcome Card

On the back of the cards, I provided information for organizations that help the homeless.
